How do I obtain a copy of a crime/accident report?
- You must be a party to the incident, the parent of an involved minor party, the attorney of record for an involved party, or the insurance agent of an involved party, to be eligible to receive a copy of the report. You must come into the Police Department lobby and provide valid identification to verify the above listed requirements.
How long before a police report is available?
- It generally takes 7-10 days before a report is completed and placed in the station files for distribution. This is due to the internal report review, internal photocopying, and routine data input and filing processes. You should generally wait that time period before you call to obtain a report copy.
What are the office hours of the Police Department?
- The regular business hours of the Palm Desert Station are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday-Friday, except holidays. The lobby is partially staffed after regular business hours until 11:00PM, and from 8:00 AM to 11:00PM on all holidays and weekends.

- You should contact the Court Services Division of the Sheriff's Department in Indio at (760) 863-8255. They will explain all the details of the TRO process. - Citations are signed off at the Palm Desert Station at 73520 Fred Waring Dr. between the hours of 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday.No appointments are necessary.
