PALM DESERT POLICE:

2108 hours:  Assault with a deadly weapon near the 19th Hole Bar, Palm Desert.  Victim, was walking home from the CVC Store to his home on Florida Avenue after purchasing beer with a friend.  A vehicle drove by near the 19th Hole; words were exchanged and the driver of the vehicle stopped and assaulted the victim with a tire jack.  Victim sustained several wounds but was treated and released.  The suspect could not be located at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.  File # T 10 237 0122 (MM)

 

RANCHO MIRAGE POLICE:

0013 hours: Officers were stopped for a traffic signal at the intersection of Hwy 111 and Indian Trail when a white Toyota Camry nearly rear-ended him attempting to stop for the signal.  The driver was able to avoid colliding with the unit, but was unable to stop before entering the intersection.  The juvenile driver was arrested for driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.  File #S10 237 0001 (rb)

 

0130 hours: Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Ramon and Bob Hope and arrested William Scott, age 27 of Palm Desert, for a burglary, possession of stolen property warrants, and a parole hold.  File #S10 237 0002 (rb)

 

0702 hours: Officers conducted a pedestrian check inside the Agua Caliente Casino, 32250 Bob Hope, and arrested Rodney Radtke, age 50 of Palm Springs, for a felony drug warrant. File #S 10 237 0004 (AE)

PALM DESERT POLICE:

1144 hours: Officers located a subject passed out in front of Fresh and Easy Market on Hwy 111 and Monterey and arrested Douglas Frederick Bannis, age 54 a transient, for public intoxication.  File #T 10 236 0052 (AE)

 

2113 hours:  Officer responded to a call of several vehicles chasing one another and driving recklessly westbound on Fred Waring Drive, west of Cook.  Officers located the vehicles on San Rafael east of San Pablo.  Officers encountered a male and female walking southbound on San Rafael.  The male, Luis Medina (aka “Chico”), age 29 of Thermal, began to struggle with the officers and was tased. 

 

Officers located an abandoned blue Dodge pickup truck and four Hispanic juveniles (15 to 17 years of age) and one Hispanic adult identified as Jorge Arnold Ochoa, 19, of Indio.  Another male who initially fled on foot, Jeffrey Paul Reynolds, 24, a parolee out of Mentone, was located during a search of the area.  Following an extensive investigation, the following individuals were arrested:

 

Medina was arrested for resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer and possession of methamphetamine; Ochoa was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and a stolen vehicle and Reynolds for a stolen vehicle.  Reports under #T 10 236 0115 and T 10 236 106 (MM)

 

2130 Hours:  Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team conducted a vehicle stop at I-10 and Cook Street and arrested Orlando Nava, age 42 of Coachella, for possession of approximately of methamphetamine.  File #T102360105 (RW)

 

RANCHO MIRAGE POLICE:

0130 hours: Officers responded to Eisenhower Medical Center in reference to an intoxicated female subject running around in the parking lot. Officers arrested Jennifer Lyn Baker, age 28 of La Quinta, her for public intoxication. File # S102360003 (RH).

 

1100 hours: Officers conducted follow up to his prescription fraud that occurred at Eisenhower Medical Center.  Francine Guzman, age 25 and Stefanie Marie Smith, age 32, both of Twenty Nine Palms, were arrested for felony drug warrants. File #S10 236 0020 (AE)

 

1708 hours: Officers responded to 72800 Dinah Shore, Costco Pharmacy, reference a prescription fraud in progress.  Bette Schwartz, 52 of Cathedral City, was arrested for four counts of prescription fraud, burglary, and violation of probation. File #S10 236 0081 (RB)

0817 hours: Deputies conducted an arrest warrant service with State Parole within the 17200 block of Keith and arrested Johan Trams, age 53 of North Palm Springs, for a no-Bail parole hold.  File #O 10 236 0007 (AE)

 

1146 hours: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Dillon and Langlois and arrested Brian Keith Arnold, age 49 of Sky Valley, for possession of methamphetamine. File #O10 236 0014 (AE)

INDIAN WELLS:

1256 hours: Officers responded to a disturbance within the 76000 block of Zumi Road and arrested Jennifer Lyn Baker, age 28 of Indian Wells, for two drug warrants and two DUI warrants. File #J10 235 0050 (AE)

 

COUNTY:

0043 hours: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the corner of Dillon Rd. and Palm Dr. and arrested Donna Harviston, age 39 of Palm Springs, for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. File #O10 235 0001 (RH).

 

0350 hours: Deputies responded to the 30000 block of Sierra Del Sol (Thousand Palms) in reference to a 2 year-old boy in someone’s front yard.  The reporting party did not know the child. Deputies went door to door and were unable to locate a guardian. The child was taken into protective custody. 

 

At approximately 0615 hours, the mother of the child dialed 911 to report her child was missing. Child Protective Services released the child to the mother and criminal charges are being filed. File #O10 235 004 (RH)      

 

1027 hours: Deputies conducted an occupied vehicle check on Norman and Dillon, Sky Valley, and arrested Michael Anthony Buchanan, age 48 of Des Moines Iowa, for possession of methamphetamine. File #O10 235 0013 (AE)       

 

1245 hours: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Camino Campanero and Bubbling Wells and arrested Daniel Morin Gamez, age 41 0f Coachella, for five felony warrants and four misdemeanor warrants. File #O10 235 0018 (AE)

 

1636 hours:  Deputies arrested Edward Harris Jr., 29, of Riverside, and Otis Holiness Jr., 28, for possession of marijuana for sale following a traffic stop at Flora and Ocotillo, Desert Hot Springs.  File #O10 235 0025 (MM)

 

1748 hours: Deputies responded to the 19800 block Dowell regarding a subject threatening to kill someone. The subject, Alex Marin, said he had numerous guns at the location.  Deputies arrived and convinced Marin to come out the front gate. Marin threatened to kill officers and was taken into custody for criminal threats. File #O10 235 0026 (LS)

0805 hours: Officers conducted a pedestrian check on Allesandro and San Pasqual and arrested Curtis Berry Sweton, age 58 of Palm Desert, for a felony drug warrant. File #T10 234 0009 (AE)

 

1809 hours:  Officers arrested Sean Bodan Harding, age 22 of La Quinta, for indecent exposure at the Sears Store, Westfield Shopping Center.  File #T10 234 0044 (MM)

0058 Hours: Officers responded to the Aqua Caliente Casino in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Officers arrested Francisco Alvarez, age 50 of Desert Hot Springs, for driving while intoxicated. File #S10 234 0003 (RH).

 

0157 Hours: Officers conducted a traffic stop on Bob Hope Dr. and Dinah Shore Dr. and arrested Guillermo Flores, age 41 of Cathedral City, for driving while intoxicated. File #S10 234 009 (RH).

 

INDIAN WELLS:

0230 Hours: Officers responded to 44400 Indian Wells Ln (Esmeralda) room in reference to a domestic violence call. Arrested was Gerardo Martinez, age 33 of Sacramento, for domestic battery. File #J10 234 0002 (RH).

 

0230 Hours: Officers were notified by Esmeralda Security that someone was attempting to burglarize a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers located William Menser, age 19, trying to flee the area on foot. Menser ran to his vehicle, drove approximately one hundred feet, stopped his vehicle, and surrendered without incident.  Menser was arrested for attempted vehicle burglary. 0216 Hours: Deputies conducted an occupied vehicle check at the Oasis Bar ( Monterey Ave and Haskell Rd) and arrested Cody Eberhart, age 22 of Palm Springs, for possessing six ecstasy pills. File #O10 234 0002 (RH).

PALM DESERT POLICE:

1055 Hours:  Officers arrested Ashley Archuleta, age 19 of Palm Desert, for robbery at the Macy’s.  Archuleta was contacted outside of the business by loss prevention after she was observed concealing stolen items on her person.  Archuleta immediately began fighting with loss prevention and had to be restrained until officers arrived.  File #T10 233 0027 (RW)

INDIAN WELLS:

1134 hours:  Officers responded to the Esmeralda Resort, 44400 Indian Wells Lane, Indian Wells, regarding a drowning in one of the pools. On arrival, three off duty nurses were administering CPR to a male child next to the southwest wading pool. The child was transported and is listed in critical condition.  File #J10 233 0008    (AM)

 

COUNTY:

1036 Hours:  Deputies conducted a vehicle stop at the corner of Two Bunch and Palms and found the driver, Nick Maxwell, age 44 of Desert Hot Springs, in possession of Vicodin without a prescription. File #O10 233 0012 (RW)

 

1230 Hours:  Deputies arrested Bernard Rogers, age 30 of Desert Hot Springs, for an outstanding felony warrant on Alta Loma Road.  File #O10 233 0021 (RW)
