0049 hours: Officers responded to the 77800 block of Michigan, reference a disturbance.  Upon arrival, Officers discovered Ryan Garland, age 31 of Palm Desert, assaulted the victim while she held their child in her arms. 2207 hours: Deputies responded to a recycling center located at Rio Del Sol, north of Dillon Rd., Thousand Palms, regarding an in-progress commercial burglary. COUNTY:

1500 Hours:  Deputies responded to Via Vista regarding shots fired.  Upon arrival, they located several shell casings.  Three males were located that matched the description of the subjects involved in the shooting.  One subject was seen in possession of a handgun.  Following a brief foot pursuit, the subjects were detained.  The three subjects were identified as: Raul Jimenez, age 18 of Desert Hot Springs and two juveniles from Desert Hot Springs.  A search of the area revealed a handgun and two knives.  File #O10 250 0019 (DS)

PALM DESERT POLICE:

0215 hours:  Officers responded to a possible traffic collision in the area of Silver Spur Mobile Home Park.  The reporting party was awoken by a loud crash.  Officers found the entry gate to the mobile home park was damaged and a license plate was located. Jose Lopez, age 31 of Palm Desert, admitted being involved in the collision and leaving the scene.  He was arrested for hit and run and providing false information to an officer.  File #T10 249 0006 (AM)

1909 hours:  Officers arrested a juvenile leaving the Sears in Palm Desert.  The juvenile was pushing a stroller containing clothing and household items (no baby). 1034 hours: Deputies conducted an arrest warrant service on United Road in unincorporated Desert Hot Springs.  Ambra Williams, age 29, was arrested for two felony warrants. File #O10 249 0012. (JD)

1342 hours: Deputies responded to a lost hiker in the Sky Valley area. The hiker reported that he was lost and out of water. The hiker’s cell phone was pinged and showed a location south of 20th and east of Kris. The CHP airplane arrived on scene while deputies were searching the area. The hiker was located within an hour from his original call, and CHP directed the deputies to his location and he was rescued with a 4×4 vehicle.
